Setting fire

I have many kitchen horror stories, especially from when I served time in university residence. Thank goodness I escaped relatively unscathed, but I've never dared to attempt flamethrowing in the kitchen again. Until today.

I accomplished flambé today. Steaks with cognac mushroom sauce. Turned out beautifully, full of rich, complex, cognac character which married incredibly well with the earthy mushrooms. And I didn't lose my eyebrows!
