Hangzhou's two lovers

Peach blossoms and willows

HangZhou is a romantic place, exemplified best by the marriage of the peach blossom and willow. There is a very old, very serious saying that as you walk along the West Lake, you walk along one peach blossom, one willow tree - I paraphrase. Sounds much better in Mandarin, I promise. But it's tradition to plant these two lovers side by side, a perfect marriage as the blossoms were in full bloom when we were there.
