Light it up

I realized that he was staring at me when I shot this photo. But this whole spectacle is ludicrous, no? This is what religion in China has become - just another instance where spending the most money is a sign of piety. Buddhist tradition stresses simplicity, a humble examination into yourself. This is anything but. Look at the size of the incense they are burning. I remember witnessing quiet Buddhist worship when I was younger - this is not worship. This is an ostentatious show of who has the bigger stick, literally and figuratively. So stare on, jackass. In this case, I'm not the fool.
