2009 Hattenheimer Pfaffenberg Riesling Kabinett

2009 Schloss Schonborn Riesling Kabinett

2009 Schloss Schönborn Riesling Kabinett | QmP Hattenheimer Pfaffenberg | Rheingau

Unfortunately, there's no such thing as the romantic European glass of wine with every meal. So when I hit the booze, I hit it pretty hard. Low alcohol wines are where it's at. Especially the most amazing, terroir specific wines in the world. Oh yes. A bottle a day suddenly doesn't sound so bad.

Young riesling, old riesling, any kind of riesling. All love. Probably the last bottles of riesling I'll be drinking until next spring, so every occasion seems a little like a funeral. This one picks it up a bit though. Pale, nearly colourless, with a bit of fizz. Just a bit. Mineral and bright citrus, shockingly high acid, just amazing energy. Fireworks and all that. Gotta show love for these wines.

Playing a bit of catch up with these last few pieces, a bit behind. Shitstorm going on, need to seriously chill big time.
